Louisville Kentucky Home Insider: Tornado Storms, Power Outages & Real Estate

Tornado Storms, Power Outages & Real Estate

Sitting there typing away on my computer, sending out emails to clients and agents, and working on an offer on one of my new listings. Its about 8pm and I have about another hour of work before I decide to call it quits for the night.

tornadoThen BAM...POWER OUTAGE! Tornado storms manage to sneak into Louisville and tear down some of the power lines. (You may have seen how Churchill Downs got some damage on ESPN...I live right down the street). Frustrated with the fact that I cannot finish my work, I decide to walk outside to see what has caused this pain.

Walking outside I find my neighboors looking up, pointing at the sky as funnel clouds start forming. Usually you would think people would seek shelter but not us Kentuckians...we grab a beer, walk outside, and converse with our neighboors. (Don't ask me about it, I guess were just curious people). Standing there shooting the breeze with the neighbors, it suddenly came to me...Neighbors

This is a fantastic time to meet some of the new neighbors and introduce yourself. (I know this sounds odd considering there is a tornado storm in the background and I am thinking about real estate) but the fact of the matter is no matter what the situation or circumstance, you can always find something positive or constructive.

CheersEven through something as wreckless and annoying as tornado storms can cause you to get off track, don't miss the opportunities in front of you to broaden your sphere of influence and make yourself more well known throughout your neighborhood or community. Besides that, it was actually nice to get a break from the technology and electronics that we get so consumed with in our daily lives.

Just remember...sometimes it's nice to take a step back, grab a beer, and watch the tornado's.

Sean, I bet they will remember you! I can't help but think of the homes lost during this weather season. During bad times...foreclosures, floods, tornadoes, we have to be steady to the public! That is our job I think!
